Vic: Sri Lankan 90 year old appeals for asylum

A 90-year-old Sri Lankan woman, under threat of deportation, has appealed to the federal
government to allow her to stay in Australia.

MARIANAYAKI SAVERIMUTTU, who has more than 40 members of her extended family in Australia,
was brought to Melbourne two years ago by her relatives.

Her application for refugee status has been refused by the Refugee Review Tribunal
and she has been ordered to leave.
