Vic: Nixon confirms corruption inquiry has spread
Victoria Police Chief Commissioner CHRISTINE NIXON has confirmed an internal inquiryinto drug squad corruption has spread to regional and suburban stations.
But Ms NIXON yesterday rejected criticisms by police ombudsman Dr BARRY PERRY thatthe reform of the drug squad has not gone far enough and it should be disbanded.
A report on ABC TV on Friday said the internal police inquiry into corruption withinthe force is investigating an additional 12 officers.
It says the officers are from suburban and regional stations including Prahran, Brunswickand St Kilda.
