Officials get training on digital abuse

A group of nearly 40 community police officers and schooladministrators got together in Montgomery County for training aboutthe dangers of digital-age crimes such as electronic dating abuse,Internet sexual predators and sexting sending sexually explicitphotos over text messages. Bruce Lohr, community crime specialist atthe Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute, said theseactions are most common among teenage students as a way of flirting,gossiping, enhancing social status, blackmailing and humiliating.
