Vic: Four dead in fiery freeway crash = 2
Earlier this afternoon, two men died in separate accidents within less than 30 minutes
on country Victorian roads.
A man, 41, was crushed when a branch fell on his car while he was driving on Watt Road,
Mooroopna, near Shepparton, 180km north of Melbourne, at around 5pm (AEDT) today.
"A large tree branch fell on the front of the car, on the windscreen and roof area,
and he was crushed inside," Senior Constable Stone said.
An off-duty ambulance officer, who had been driving behind the man when the incident
occurred, treated him at the scene before an ambulance crew arrived, she said.
The victim died at the scene.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died after he failed to negotiate a bend on Westernport Road
at Lang Lang, 85km south-east of Melbourne, at around 4.30pm (AEDT) today, Senior Constable
Stone said.
The victim, a Lang Lang man in his 30s, died at the scene, she said.
